New Year, New Tat

As soon as I knew I was going to Atlanta for NYE, I knew I was getting a new tattoo.

I got my first two tattoos in Atlanta, at the same shop & done by the same artist. I’ve been wanting a new tattoo for a couple of years, so I figured being back in Atlanta was a good time to get it done.

Originally I was thinking about getting two done during my trip, but I settled on getting one.

This is what I got:

Yup, Jubi got a wrist tat! I’ve been wanting one for a while, but my corporate lifestyle has made me hesitate. Well, after much talk & contemplation, I’m leaving the corporate world behind soon, so I took the wrist tat plunge. It is coverable tho, which is a good thing.

I got the astrological symbol for a Cancer because I am a Cancer (I’m a July baby) and I’m the stereotypical Cancer. Look up anything about Cancers, & you’ll read how we’re very emotional, guarded, fiercely loyal, in search of love & the ones who always want to take care of people. Yup, that’s me.

The actual tattooing wasn’t bad at all. Like I mentioned, I already have two tattoos, so I was aware of what I was getting myself into. After a wait at the tattoo shop with my homie ED (who was also with me when I got my second one, funny) we got started. I was a bit nervous beforehand because its been 4yrs since my last tattoo & I wasn’t sure I’d be able to handle the pain. But I was a G! LOL, I held ED’s hand & just meditated – focused not on the pain & it was manageable. I think the pain from getting threaded earlier that week was worse than the tattoo pain #realtalk. But it was still painful, especially when the needle was on a nerve.

Overall, it was a quick tattoo & I absolutely love the end result. It looks great & it was exactly what I wanted.

  • You are one brave lady! The tat is cute, though. You obviously don’t want to completely rule out the possibility of working in a corporate setting in the future. If you did, you wouldn’t be concerned about whether or not your tat is coverable.

Most people I know with tats claim they are addictive. Is this your last one? Or are you going to be posting a pic of a rose tatted on your neck next? Lol. Okay, maybe not on the neck. 🙂

I have only read a few of your blogs, but I definitely enjoy them. It gives me something to focus on, other than all the sweet, fatty foods I can’t have. 😐

  • That’s hot! I love it! They are addictive so watch out. I got my first 3 years ago and I can’t wait to make up my mind about my next one. And of course I got mine done here in Atlanta too. What is it about being here that makes you want to get tatted up? LOL
