This is Day 3 of my 30 days of blogging challenge.
Today’s topic is your Top 5 Pet Peeves.
I wish I had only 5! I’m one of those people who lets a lot of things annoy her. I don’t have a lot of patience so I tend to get annoyed easily. I’m a work in progress.
So what annoys me?
People who message me on Gchat without saying hi first – I just think its rude to start a conversations without saying hello first. Please don’t jump into conversation or ask me a question without a salutation first, it’s rude.
People who don’t understand how and when to use the “reply all” function at work – Once I received about 100+ “please stop replying all!” messages, because I was on a company wide distribution list. *sigh* Reply all has a purpose, but a lot of people have no clue how it works. And they just clutter up inboxes in the meantime.
People who think there’s something wrong with you if you’re over 30, single and childless – Are we in 2013 or 1913? We’re not getting married at 15 and having 10 kids so they can work on the family farm anymore. The average age for marriage is somewhere around 28 and even higher for those with a bachelor’s degree or higher. People who wait for marriage and kids with the right person (like myself) aren’t some type of lepers, but plenty of people act like we are. And think it’s perfectly ok to ask why you’re still single or inquire if there is something wrong with you. That’s rude as hell.
The person who parks next to me in the parking garage – In the 3 years I’ve lived in my building, I’ve had plenty of people park in the space next to mine. Each one of them couldn’t park worth a damn, and I’m forced to do all kinds of parking tricks to get into my space without scratching my car. Ugh.
Sites that don’t allow me to read the full piece in my RSS Reader – Listen, if I can’t read the piece in my reader, most likely I’m going to skip your piece. There are very few sites that I’m willing to click the link to see the full piece. I understand people want blog hits, but it’s annoying. Also, please stop doing the articles with lists where you have to click-through, that’s even more annoying & I’m going to just leave your page if I see that.
Bonus: I’m annoyed that Google is retiring Google Reader – I still haven’t recovered from this news. I also have not cut off my use of Google Reader because I’m hoping it will be saved. So far all the RSS readers I’ve tried leave a lot to be desired. What is I gon do???
